Roles & Responsibilities:

Design and Coding:

Responsible for the design and coding of protocols in the assigned area.

Focus on ensuring on-time delivery while adhering to quality and productivity goals.

Testing and Bug Fixing:

Conduct thorough testing of protocols, actively participating in bug fixing processes.

Document all testing procedures and outcomes for future reference.

Documentation and Technical Support:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of all processes.

Provide technical support in the assigned area to ensure smooth operations.

Adherence to Guidelines:

Follow guidelines and checklists for all deliverable reviews.

Regularly send status reports to Team Leads and adhere to relevant organizational processes.

Continuous Improvement:

Enhance technical capabilities through attending trainings, self-study, and periodic technical assessments.

Competencies Description:

A Protocol Testing Engineer at Sasken Technologies is involved in a spectrum of activities related to 2G/3G/LTE/5G technologies. Key competencies include:

Protocol Stack Testing:

Proficiency in modem/UE protocol stack testing.

Interoperability Testing:

Conduct interoperability testing of modems with various network operators.

Network Scenario Understanding:

Ability to comprehend network scenarios, including signaling and user plane call flow.

3GPP Radio Access Technologies:

Proficient in all 3GPP RAT with knowledge of air interface, network signaling, Layer 2, Layer 3 protocols of UE & RAN side, and NAS layer.

Automation Skills:

Automation using scripting languages like PERL, Python, TTCN for efficient test execution.

Platform Knowledge:

Familiarity with internal and customer-specific platforms, especially Linux hosts.

Technology Standards:

Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications and network vendor tests.

Tool Proficiency:

Experience with tools such as QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu, Keysight, and test scripting tools.

Language Proficiency:

Mastery in scripting languages like Shell, TCL, Python, Perl, as well as C, C++, and TTCN.

Specialization:

Expertise in 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Interop Testing, and VSAT-SATCOM.
