About the Role

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, is seeking a Software Engineer I to join its Post-Trade Team.

The Post-Trade Division manages the firm’s middle and back-office operations, including books and records, P&L, reconciliation systems, regulatory reporting, compliance, and more. The team also focuses on technological innovation to improve efficiency in treasury and finance functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tools for the Post-Trade Platform, including:

  • Reference data management
  • Trade capture and reconciliation
  • P&L
  • Trade cost management
  • Surveillance and compliance
  • Regulatory reporting

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define user requirements for specific features.

• Work with cross-functional teams to design reliable, scalable, and high-performance software.

• Drive innovation in building the next generation of middle and back-office applications.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) from a top-tier institution.
• Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Linux systems, and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch) is highly desirable.
  • Problem-solving ability and a keen analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with electronic trading and financial instruments such as equities, commodities, cryptocurrencies, futures, and options is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
