About the Job
As a Software Engineer at Red Hat, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to testing the performance and scalability of the Ansible Automation Platform. Your contributions will not only help in identifying and solving performance bottlenecks but also in suggesting and implementing new features and improvements. Key Responsibilities
Onboarding New Deployment Types: Lead the integration of new deployment types of the Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Lightspeed use cases, into the Continuous Performance Testing framework. This includes working on AAP on OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and AAP’s cloud marketplace offerings.
Tool Development: Develop and enhance tools for generating load on applications within the Ansible Automation Platform. This involves working closely with engineering and quality engineering (QE) teams to automate the deployment and configuration processes.
Data Collection and Analysis: Automate the collection and analysis of monitoring data and logs to characterize performance metrics. This includes developing tools that provide visibility into performance and scale challenges, as well as identifying key parameters for various features.
Collaboration with Developers: Work alongside software developers to improve the performance of the codebase. This includes optimizing algorithms, reducing resource utilization, and enhancing system latency.
Proactive Issue Identification: Proactively identify scale-related issues and work with Application Operations and Engineering teams to develop and implement solutions. Your role will involve not just identifying problems but also providing actionable insights to improve the platform’s performance and scalability.
Effective Communication: Utilize your strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes creating detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux: Proficiency with UNIX or Linux operating systems, with experience across various distributions.
- Container Orchestration Knowledge: Experience with container orchestration software such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is essential.
- Automation Expertise: Familiarity with the automation of software deployment and testing processes.
- Data Visualization Skills: Experience with test data visualization and analysis, using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C or Python.
- Experience with HR Systems: Knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a significant advantage.
