Role Overview

The Junior DevOps Engineer will play an essential role in the IT operations team, working closely with Cloud Operations, Development, QA, and IT teams to facilitate the efficient deployment and operation of infrastructure. This position is ideal for a motivated individual eager to learn and contribute to modern DevOps practices, automation, and infrastructure management.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and basic agile methodologies.
• Basic understanding of system administration (Linux/Windows), network protocols, and services.
• Exposure to scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) is a plus.
• An eagerness to learn and work with diverse technologies and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to collaborative efforts.

Responsibilities

CI/CD and Automation

• Assist in setting up and maintaining continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines for development projects.
• Help manage version control systems like Git, including code merges and deployments.
• Contribute to the development of automation scripts and tools to streamline operational tasks.

Infrastructure Management

• Support the monitoring and reporting of cloud and on-premises infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Work with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in managing virtual servers, databases, and other resources in cloud or on-premises environments.

Collaboration and Troubleshooting

• Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve build or deployment issues.
• Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and contribute to the continuous improvement of the deployment process.
• Learn and adhere to best practices in system administration, security, and code deployment.

Documentation and Learning

• Assist in creating and maintaining system documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Gain hands-on experience and skills under the mentorship of senior engineers.
