Job Overview: Application Systems and Architecture Specialist

As an Application Systems and Architecture Specialist, you will oversee the design, architecture, and workflow of application systems to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware. You will be responsible for enhancing system performance, managing data flow, and evaluating logical processes, all while ensuring the system meets client needs effectively. Your role includes creating innovative architectural solutions, conducting in-depth business reviews, documenting system processes, and developing strategies to improve application performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Needs Management: Own and address client requirements by performing regular maintenance and verification of changes to ensure high-quality outcomes.

• Client Communication & Support: Act as the primary contact for client issues, actively participating in client meetings and internal discussions to provide research and solutions. Document all communication and maintain clarity in client-facing documentation.

• System Design & Solutions: Evaluate system design and suggest improvements, focusing on optimizing software and hardware integration. Proactively recommend product alternatives and work with teams to meet client demands and increase potential revenue.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between various development teams, transferring knowledge between ongoing projects and client issues to guarantee client satisfaction.

• Client Relationship Building: Build long-term relationships by understanding clients’ business needs, objectives, and expectations. Ensure the best solutions are implemented for their goals.

• Issue Resolution & Problem Solving: Identify and resolve software issues, document bugs, and provide solutions using appropriate tools.

• Availability & Client Engagement: Ensure round-the-clock availability to address urgent client requests and maintain seamless operations. Provide proactive service to enhance client satisfaction.

• Stay Updated & Technically Sound: Keep abreast of industry trends and system enhancements, ensuring your expertise remains cutting-edge. Support the growth and development of your technical skill set.

• Internal Collaboration: Foster positive relationships within the organization, facilitating cross-team collaboration and maintaining internal documentation standards.

• Quality Assurance: Focus on maintaining system integrity and ensuring that all technical components meet high-quality standards. Perform system analysis and resolve complex issues in development and change controls.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in designing, coding, and developing systems, with full life cycle design and development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.

Skills & Competencies:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Proc C or ANSI C for development.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL for database development.
• Administrative experience on Linux platforms.
• Experience in developing enterprise-level systems.
• Background in client installation, configuration, testing, and training.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience with TSYS ONLINE platforms and related product implementations.
• Development skills in VB.NET and ASP.NET for web applications.
• Knowledge of payment systems processes, including Issuing, Authorization, Clearing, and Settlement.
• Familiarity with ISO 8583 message format.
